More than Just Beer at Breweries?

beer games activities

Wait, you mean there’s more to fun to be had at breweries aside from drinking beer and eating awesome food? You bet there is!

In an effort to appeal to the wider audience, many breweries have started to hold events that offer something a little different. If you’re looking for something fun to do then you might want to check what events are taking place at your favorite brewery. To help you get started, I’ve highlighted a few events that are offered by some of my favorite Nashville breweries.

East Nashville Beer Works – Goats and Grog

For those of you outside of Nashville, this sentence is for you: goats are a thing here, we love them.

They attend yoga sessions, they help neighbors keep their grass short, and what isn’t there to love about goats? The cute ones that is, not the hissing angry ones that charge at you if you look at them the wrong way.

East Nashville Beer Works holds an event on their outside patio named Goats and Grog. Baby goats attend from Shenanigoats (a nearby farm) and you can watch them play, get your picture taken, pet them, and drink beer with them (note: the goats don’t drink the beer, that’s just for the patrons).

It has been advised that you keep your dogs away during Goats and Grog so as not to scare the goats. Or the dogs.

Other Events at ENBW: Board Game Night, Goat Yoga, Paint Your Pet.

Smith & Lentz – Paint Your Pet Night

Fortunately a lot of breweries are becoming more and more dog friendly in Nashville, and what could be better than drinking a beer and painting your favorite pet? $40 gets you a cold beer and a fun lesson, and you get to go home with your painting.

The lessons generally last for about 3 hours and are held on nights where the taproom is expected to be a little quieter than normal. Reservations are accepted and walk-ins are welcome.

Other Events at Smith & Lentz: Bike riding, trivia, Oktoberfest. Check out their events page for more info.

Tailgate Brewery (West Nashville Location) – Quiz Night

Quizzes combined with beer make for a fun night out. But what I like the most about the quiz nights at Tailgate is that they’re topical and change regularly. For example, their Nerdy Talk Trivia quiz nights have been themed around Mean Girls, The Avengers, Seinfeld, and How I Met Your Mother.

If you’re fortunate enough to know a lot of nerdy trivia, and you finish in the top three places there are gift cards as prizes. $50 for winning, $25 for second place, and $10 for finishing third. Walking away with $50 from a fun night out seems like a pretty good deal to me!

Other Events at Tailgate Brewery: Pumpkin Fest, Fireworks show, Paint by Pint classes.

Southern Grist (The Nations Taproom) – Brews and Grooves

This wouldn’t be Nashville if there wasn’t music involved, and Southern Grist don’t disappoint. Songwriters in the Round features local songwriters and talented individuals, and what’s even better is that the event is free.

The event lasts for about two-and-a-half hours and is ideal for out of towners or folks looking to enjoy great music and beer.

Other Events at Southern Grist: New Release Saturday, Crawfish and Craft Beer Bash

Fat Bottom Brewing – Beer, Bands, and Bingo

Not to be outdone, Fat Bottom don’t just combine beer and bands, they also throw bingo into the mix. The event is held every Tuesday and last for two-and-a-half hours. Kids and groups of all sizes are welcome, just remember to pick up your bingo card when you enter.

Beer, Bands, and Bingo is free and free parking is provided. Drink specials are available and there are also prizes available for the bingo winners. If you’re looking to occupy the kids for a night, or want to show the locals your bingo prowess then head on over to Fat Bottom.

Other Events at Fat Bottom Brewing: Network after Work

These are just some of the events I could find, and I’m sure there are a ton of others out there. It just goes to show that there’s something for everyone, even at breweries around town!
